Company says prices will start at AED7 for instant bookings and the minimum fare is AED19
Careem, the region’s ride-hailing app, has introduced its instant and scheduled booking service in Ajman.
Launched in 2012 in Dubai and now live in 82 cities across 12 countries in the broader Middle East including North Africa, Turkey and Pakistan, Careem said cars in Ajman will be Lexus and will appear in the app as a “GoPlus” car type.
Prices will start at AED7 for instant bookings and the minimum fare is AED19, Careem said in a statement.
The company added that because many people will be using Careem for specific commutes from Ajman, it has introduced a set pricing model for trips from Ajman City Centre to Dubai International Airport, Sharjah International Airport, Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates.
There are also plans to introduce other car types like Max and Kids if the demand is seen from customers living and visiting the Emirate, Careem added.
Bassel Al Nahlaoui, VP of Government and Business Relations for Careem, said: “We are really looking forward to understanding the city and what people need from us here - rolling out products and services that can help simplify people’s lives and at the same time creating more business for local Captains. Ajman is a beautiful city and one that is increasingly developing its appeal as a home for people to live and work in, as well as a tourist destination for visitors to the Middle East.”
