Etihad Airways will relocate check-in for a number of highly in-demand flights on the morning of December 15, the airline has announced.

The flights include EY097 to Istanbul, EY091 to Athens, EY535 to Beirut, and EY513 to Amman.

As many as 1.25 million travellers are expected to travel on Etihad in the Christmas travel period between December 12 and January 5.

Due to the high volume of passenger traffic, the airline is advising passengers who are able to consider using early check-in facilities at Dubai Travel Mall and at the Al Ain and Abu Dhabi City Terminals, as well as the dedicated “family check-in” area available for guests traveling with young children and infants.

According to the airline, additional staff will be on hand during the holiday period to provide assistance.

Additionally, Etihad is reminding US-bound passengers that they must check-in two hours before their scheduled departure time and present themselves at the US Customs and Border Protection facility in the airport no later than 90 minutes before departure.

The airline said it is also offering a “moonlight check-in service” for guests, which is available between December 12 and 24 at Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Terminal 3. Using this service, passengers are able to check-in four to eight hours before their scheduled departure at specially-marked counters between 4am and 6am, and between 4pm and 6pm.

Guests using this limited-time service will receive an additional 5kg of checked baggage, 2,500 Etihad Guest Miles and vouchers for select Duty Free and food and beverage outlets.
