Indian authorities have announced nine additional repatriation flights from the UAE, with sales beginning on Friday evening.
The flights will depart from Sharjah to a number of cities in South India between July 9 and July 14, with destinations including Madurai, Coimbatore, Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Kochi and Hyderabad.
“Indian nationals registered with the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi or Consulate General of India in Dubai, fulfilling the required entry conditions can book through Air India Express booking offices or online on www.airindiaexpress.in or through authorised travel agents in the UAE,” the post said.
The flights will be opened for sale at 4 PM UAE time on Friday, July 3.
On June 28, Indian authorities said that more than 450,000 Indians have registered with Indian diplomatic missions in the UAE.
“We are committed to bringing back our remaining compatriots, particularly in the GCC countries,” Anurag Srivasta, Indian Ministry of Externa Affairs spokesman said. “This phase will particularly focus on countries where we still have a large number of Indians who have registered to return,” he added.
To date, more than 364,000 Indians have been flown home from over 50 countries.
