Bahraini national carrier Gulf Air will resume flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Sunday, July 5.

With the additional flights, Gulf Air will operate to 25 percent of its original network. It currently also flies to and from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Manila, Athens, Cairo and a number of destinations in Pakistan.

Earlier in the pandemic, Gulf Air and Indian authorities in Saudi Arabia worked together to repatriation flights between Dammam and a number of Indian cities, the airline has announced.

In a statement, Gulf Air said that upcoming planned charter flights will operate to destinations including Chennai, Ahmedabad, Mangalore and Cochin.

In May, Gulf Air carried a record 50 tonnes of fresh meats and produce from Lahore to Riyadh on-board a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

In April, the carrier also conducted a number of flights as part of Bahrain’s International Covid-19 Repatriation Programme (ICRP), the company announced.

In a statement, Gulf Air said it had flown Bahraini nationals home from Bahrain, Jordan, Egypt and Turkey.
