CargoGulf, a global NVOCC (Non-vessel operating common carrier) operator today announced its plan to establish its global headquarters in Singapore. CargoGulf will utilise the Singapore base as a key trans-shipment hub. Traditionally strong in the Middle East and the UK, CargoGulf’s move to set up the head office in Singapore is designed to enable the company to strengthen its presence in Asia, as the firm aims to become one of the global NVOCC’s with headquarters in Asia.

Operational from 1 January 2007, CargoGulf will focus on its core products of providing transportation services as a neutral NVOCC and Liner Principal. Its portfolio includes Groupage services, FCL Container “Box” services and General FCL services. CargoGulf operates it’s own fleet of containers and provide liner services between Asia, Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East. It also operates global Groupage services to Europe, Mediterranean, Middle East and USA.

“CargoGulf’s operational presence in Singapore will enable us to support our growing business within our key product sectors. With flexible sailing schedules, guaranteed space, long-term rate validities and a strong global neutral agency network, CargoGulf is ideally positioned to serve the shipping and logistic industries looking for a global partner.” said Hans-Henrik Nielsen, managing director for CargoGulf.

Cargogulf’s immediate priorities in Singapore and Asia are to reinforce its brand and showcase its global NVOCC consolidation and principal liner service capabilities, said Nielsen.
