Chad’s national airline starts operations at Al Ain

North African carrier becomes 41st airline to make use of Abu Dhabi-owned airports.

The national carrier of Chad – Toumaï Air Tchad – is starting freighter operations out of Al Ain International Airport, it was announced on Wednesday.

The north African airline which has its main home base of N’Djamena International Airport will operate in conjunction with Cargolux a weekly service from Al Ain to N’Djamena.

Operating up to two flights per week from Al Ain, Toumaï Air Tchad will become the second cargo airline to start operations from Abu Dhabi’s second airport in 2008.

Mohammed Al Bulooki, vice president of Airline Marketing and Aeronautical Revenue for Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), the owner-operator of Al Ain International Airport said: “The strategic location of Al Ain International Airport makes it a natural hub for freighter companies flying into the UAE as well as it acting as a desirable short and long-haul hub for regional or international freight.”

Toumaï Air Tchad becomes the 41st airline to have started operations from Abu Dhabi airports.
