Delhi cargo terminal certified

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate for the International Cargo Terminal of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has been awarded the ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate for the International Cargo Terminal of the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The certificate was awarded in recognition of DIAL’s recent efforts to improve customer service, quality control and efficiency.

The air cargo terminal, which is spread across 27 acres of land, operates a common user infrastructure facility for storage and processing of international air cargo.

As a result, the airport has successfully capitalised on India’s rapidly growing freight volumes. Currently, Delhi Airport handles more than 0.4 million tonnes of cargo per annum. This figure is expected to grow to 1.27 million tonnes by 2020 and touch 2.0 million tonnes by 2025.

DIAL is now planning further modernisation of the Delhi airport to help cater to the growing passenger and cargo traffic. A master plan for the expansion, which includes a new cargo complex, has already been submitted to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India.
