Deliveroo UAE, with the support of Dubai Police, has launched the Cautious Rider Award, a new initiative aimed at recognising and rewarding riders who ensure road safety.
The inaugural round of the programme has seen a group of Deliveroo riders receive financial rewards from the company, along with official certificates of recognition.
As an annual programme, the Cautious Rider Award serves as an additional incentive for riders to prioritise safety on the road.
This initiative aligns with Deliveroo’s dedication to collaborating with various stakeholders to promote a safer community.
The selection criteria for the award were based on key factors such as maintaining a clean traffic record, avoiding fines, violations, and accidents throughout the entire calendar year.
“We are committed to introducing new partnerships and initiatives that foster a safe environment and ensure the well-being of our riders on the road. We extend our gratitude to Dubai Police for joining us in this shared mission, their support, and their official recognition of the riders who contribute to making Dubai safer every day. Thousands of Deliveroo riders prioritise road safety and have an impressive track record. For the inaugural awards, we recognised a group of top-performing riders who set a commendable example, and our plan is to expand this initiative year after year to reward more riders,” Yazan Aburaqabeh, Head of Operations at Deliveroo said.
The Cautious Rider Award is part of Deliveroo’s ongoing efforts to prioritise rider well-being and acknowledge exceptional riders who continually raise industry standards.
In 2023, Deliveroo provided training sessions to its entire fleet of riders in Dubai, covering essential knowledge and skills related to road safety, best practices, regulatory compliance, as well as an understanding of UAE labor laws and cultural nuances.
The company maintains several ongoing initiatives and programs aimed at enhancing rider well-being while equipping them to ensure their own safety, as well as the safety of pedestrians and other drivers.
