As unstable weather takes UAE by storm and rain lashes across the emirates, food delivery apps have delayed and suspended orders. Deliveroo, Careem, Noon Food have put up notifications on the applications announcing their precautions.
Deliveroo
Deliveroo has seized all food deliveries due to the weather conditions, the notification on the application read, “Due to the current poor weather and to ensure the safety of our riders, we are currently not accepting orders.”
They stated that certain restaurant partners are handling deliveries in-house and can be contacted directly.

Careem
Careem has informed users through a notification on the application that they are accepting orders however, delivery time will be subject to delays due to weather conditions.

Noon Food
Noon Food is also accepting deliveries but have also announced delays in delivery time due to unstable weather conditions. The in-app notification read, “Due to bad weather, you may experience some delays.”

Weather forecasts
Rain is forecast in the coming days until Friday, where the weather will reportedly be stable.
Showers, along with thunder and lightning are forecast in the coming days, including overnight on Wednesday into Thursday morning.
Temperatures are expected to dip to 14ºC on the coast and 3ºC in the mountain regions of UAE.
On Tuesday, the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) warned UAE residents to stay cautious while driving as rains engulf parts of the nation.
In an advisory issued on Tuesday, the NCM warned residents to:
- Avoid driving unless absolutely necessary. If necessary, drive with caution, and remain vigilant and alert to ensure the safety of all road users.
- Turn on low-beam headlights when visibility is reduced.
- Follow weather forecasts via official channels and be ready to comply with instructions issued by relevant authorities.
