Dubai International Airport (DXB) achieved new targets with a record-breaking 87 million passengers welcomed in 2023, marking a 31.7 percent increase from the previous year.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, said: “DXB’s spectacular performance in 2023 is a resounding testament to the visionary leadership and determination of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to achieve growth and excellence across sectors, surmounting all challenges along the way.”
Additional statistics revealed that flight movement was recorded at 416,405 and over 77.5 million baggages went through the global hub last year. The success rate of baggage accuracy at 99.8 percent came in at one of the highest among international hubs.
The average waiting time at passport control for departures and security checks was recorded at seven minutes and four minutes.
December saw the highest traffic in the fourth quarter with a total of 22.4 million guests.
According to the latest data, Dubai is connected to 262 destinations across 104 countries.
