FedEx Express, one of the biggest express transportation companies in the world, has announced the expansion of its International Priority Freight Service to an additional 39 countries in the Middle East, Europe, Indian subcontinent and Africa region. As FedEx has access to more than 110 countries, this expansion increases express freight coverage to over 90% of the world’s GDP.
Launched in 1994, the service guarantees on-time air freight delivery for international shipments within one to three business days. The company has also expanded its services to do Saturday deliveries within the United States, and also serve 24 new countries in Latin America.
“With international trade volume growing at more than 6% per year over the past decade, the expansion of fast and reliable airfreight services is essential to businesses. FedEx Express Freight allows them to avoid carrying expensive inventory while still meeting their customers’ immediate needs,” said Hamdi Osman, FedEx senior vice president for the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa (MENA) region.
The company also provides customs clearance service included in the transport rate while customers’ shipments are protected by a money-back guarantee. The priority freight service utilises high-end technological devices allowing a transparency that enables their customers to track the movement of their goods.
FedEx promised that with the company’s expansion and enhanced technological tools, companies will benefit from a reduction in transportation and inventory costs as well as meet their pressing freight shipment needs.
