flydubai announces plan to launch fourth Pakistan route

Low-cost carrier says it will start flights to Quetta from June 11; will also increase flights to Multan

Low-cost carrier flydubai on Wednesday announced plans to launch direct flights to Quetta in Pakistan next month.

Flights to the airline’s fourth destination in Pakistan will commence on June 11 with three flights a week, the Dubai carrier said in a statement.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “We have been flying to Pakistan since 2010, and we have seen a consistent demand for our services. We are pleased to make Quetta our fourth destination in Pakistan and it becomes the 14th destination we have announced this year.

“We see continued opportunity to grow our network across our geographic focus and connect previously underserved markets to Dubai.”

flydubai first began flights to Pakistan with a daily service to Karachi, which has since grown to a double daily service due to demand.

In 2013, flights to Sialkot and Multan were launched and flydubai will increase its thrice-weekly service to Multan to daily flights with effect from May 26.

flydubai will then operate 27 flights a week to Pakistan.

“With the launch of our flights to Quetta, we look forward to providing more passengers in Pakistan the opportunity to enjoy flydubai’s comfortable onboard services, its award-winning In-Flight Entertainment and the ability to connect to our growing network or beyond through our hub in Dubai,” said Sudhir Sreedharan, senior vice president, commercial (GCC, Subcontinent, Africa) at flydubai.

Economy Class return fares to Quetta will start at AED1,645, the airline said.
