Jet top in India

Travel agents internationally vote airline ‘India’s Leading Airline’.

At a lavish ceremony in Bangalore, India the home-grown airline was awarded the prize of ‘India’s Leading Airline’ by the World Travel Awards.  The Wall Street Journal has named the awards the ‘travel industry’s equivalent to the Oscars’, making the award an especially significant one.  The fact that the awards are voted by fellow travel professionals only adds to this acclaim.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Mr Gaurang Shetty, Vice President of Marketing, said, “Jet Airways has always striven to set and maintain high standards in the Indian aviation industry and this award from our global travel trade partners is a realisation of our efforts.”

The airline operates services to 44 destinations within India and has expanded its portfolio internationally to include Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Thailand, Belgium, USA and Canada.  Further expansion into Europe, North America and Africa is planned in the coming years with the introduction of new wide-bodied aircraft to the fleet.  Since its inception in May 1993, Jet Airways has flown over 82m passengers.
