With demand soaring, the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) at Dubai South has decided to expand the number of its Line Maintenance Units (LMUs) to support airside operators, including fixed-base operators (FBOs).

Once the construction is complete in the third quarter of 2026, the total number of LMUs at MBRAH will increase to 11, spanning an area of 76,000 square feet.

Mohammad Al Falasi, Deputy CEO of Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, commented: “We have expanded our services to meet the strong demand from the aviation community for line maintenance support. This underscores our commitment to developing a compelling product strategy and building a dynamic ecosystem that fulfill the aspirations of our clients.”

Line Maintenance Units are the lifeblood of aviation industry. These are the facilities that perform aircraft line maintenance, including routine inspections, minor repairs, and pre-flight and post-flight checks to ensure aircraft readiness and safety between flights. They operate on the airport ramp or at the gate, focusing on quick-turnaround tasks, unlike Base Maintenance Units (BMUs), where major maintenance of planes takes place.

The LMUs at MBRAH will provide a range of services, including storage and maintenance warehouses, tooling, engineering support, and a world-class pilot rest area. The facilities will also feature dedicated shaded parking, offices, and other additional amenities tailored to industry needs.

MBRAH offers global aerospace players high-level connectivity and is a free-zone destination for the world’s leading airlines, private jet companies, MROs, and associated industries. Located in and developed by Dubai South, it is also home to maintenance centres and training and education campuses.
