Over a third of Boeing Business Jet’s global business is expected to come from the Middle East, the company’s president told The National.
Speaking at the Middle East Business Aviation show in Dubai, Boeing Business Jet’s president Steve Taylor said he expects 35 percent of its global sales to come from the Middle East, but said the drop in oil prices could affect the company’s customers on the region.
“The Middle East traditionally has been a very core market for us,” Taylor told a press conference at the event.
With a total of 13 orders so far this year, Boeing Business Jet’s sales are returning to its pre-2008 level.
Taylor said he did not expect Boeing Business Jet’s sales in the region to be affected by competition from airline carriers.
“While the cabin comfort that they have is remarkable, our customers want to go on their own schedule. The schedule is a very important part of how they use this tool,” he said.
