The most punctual airlines in the Middle East have been revealed for the month of May by global aviation analytics experts Cirium.
The independent aviation analyst ranks airlines and airports using information from more than 2,000 sources and is respected and influential in the industry. It reviews the total number of flights in a given month (approximately 3 million) for every airport globally in an ordered list, then looks at where the percentile demarcations fall. It classifies a global airport as one with 25-40m seats serving at least three regions.
According to Cirium, Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport is the world’s most punctual airport with more than 88.23 per cent of flights on time in May.
World’s most punctual airports
An on-time flight is defined as a flight that departs within 15 minutes of the scheduled gate departure time.
Doha’s Hamad International Airport also featured in the top 10, with around 84 per cent of flights on time.
