SkyDive Dubai plane forced to make emergency landing

Technical glitch forces aircraft with 15 passengers on board to take emergency action

A SkyDive Dubai aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing this week after experiencing a technical problem.

SkyDive Dubai passengers were involved in the emergency landing on July 7, when a glitch happened just after setting off into the skies.

The landing was successful and no-one on board was injured, a SkyDive Dubai statement said.

“On 7th of July 2015 at 8am one of Skydive Dubai’s Planes Cessna Caravan plane, carrying 15 skydivers including the pilot, flying over the desert campus encountered a technical problem shortly after it had taken off,” a statement on their Facebook page read. “The experienced pilot however managed to land the plane safely, with all 15 passengers walking away unharmed.”

“An official investigation is being carried out by the local authorities to source the cause of the incident and a detailed report will be shared upon the completion of the investigation,” the statement continued.

Some of their approximately 80,000 fans on the social networking website commented on how lucky the passengers are and added that the pilot did a good job bringing them to safety.

“Well done to the pilot. He is a hero. Great to hear that there were no serious injuries,” one commented, while another added: “Good job, I never felt unsafe jumping with you guys. Keep up the hard work!”

Some social media snaps by @alialshouk show the extent to the drama, including smoke billowing from the aircraft and people walking away from the wreckage.
