Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for a significant surge in passenger traffic as the Eid holiday approaches, with more than 3.6 million travelers expected between March 26 and April 7. The busiest day of the period is projected to be Saturday, April 5, when 309,000 guests are anticipated to pass through the airport’s terminals.

On average, DXB will handle approximately 276,000 travelers per day, with the first week of April seeing the sharpest increase. Departures during the Eid week are forecast to rise by 19 percent compared to the airport’s average weekly traffic in the past month, signaling a notable seasonal uplift.

The holiday rush is driven by school breaks and heightened demand for visiting friends and relatives (VFR) in key markets such as India, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom. Additionally, DXB is witnessing increased leisure travel to popular destinations, including Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Italy.

To ensure smooth passenger flow and minimise congestion, Dubai Airports has introduced DXB Express Maps, a smart wayfinding tool that offers real-time navigation across all terminals. Travelers can scan a QR code displayed on any flight information screen to locate their gate, explore dining and retail options, or find nearby airport facilities with ease.

Dubai Airports is also prioritising accessibility and guest support during the peak period. Enhanced services for People of Determination (PoD) include clearly marked accessibility routes, discreet assistance from trained staff wearing Sunflower pins, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.

Working in collaboration with airline partners, service providers, commercial operators, and government authorities, Dubai Airports is implementing a comprehensive strategy to manage the increased passenger volumes efficiently.

For real-time travel updates, airport services, and accessibility support, passengers can visit www.dubaiairports.ae. DXB Express Maps QR codes are available throughout the terminals for seamless navigation.
