The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a travel ban to Lebanon for Emirati citizens, due to the current conditions in the country.

The Ministry stressed on its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being and security of UAE citizens amidst the ongoing turmoil in Lebanon.

To ensure the safety of its nationals, the UAE government has set up a dedicated hotline, reachable at 0097180024, to address any emergencies that might arise.

Additionally, citizens are strongly advised to use the ‘Twajudi’ service, a consular initiative led by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made to provide vital assistance to Emiratis abroad.

This move by the UAE follows other nations, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain, who have also placed travel bans to Lebanon.

These countries have collectively urged their citizens to exercise caution due to the recent clashes within the Ain El Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp located in southern Lebanon.

Tragically, the escalating violence in the camp, which ignited on July 29, has resulted in the loss of lives, with at least 13 individuals falling victim, primarily identified as militants.

The conflict largely stems from a clash between the dominant Fatah faction and extremist hard-liners.

Ain El Hilweh, holding paramount significance among Lebanon’s 12 Palestinian camps, houses a substantial portion of the country’s Palestinian refugees – approximately 80,000 out of an estimated 250,000, as reported by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
