Passengers in the UAE are set to experience a new era of premium autonomous mobility, with Abu Dhabi preparing to launch a robotaxi fleet built on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Lumo, an autonomous mobility specialist headquartered in the UAE, announced the service in partnership with Mercedes-Benz and Momenta, a global pioneer in autonomous driving AI.
Commercial operations are scheduled to begin next year in Abu Dhabi, giving residents, commuters and visitors access to a high-end autonomous ride service for the first time in the country.
Premium robotaxis in the UAE
The partners also plan to expand the service into additional international markets in future phases.
The robotaxi fleet is powered by Momenta’s L4 autonomous driving system and built on the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class platform.
According to the partners, it represents the industry’s first scalable premium robotaxi model based on a mass-production luxury vehicle — a significant milestone for autonomous passenger mobility.
