Technology company Yango has entered the Dubai car rental market with the launch of a new digital platform, Yango Drive.

The new platform functions both as an online rental booking service and a car listing aggregator. It incorporates a mobile app integrated into Yango’s existing app, allowing consumers to browse vehicle options and complete rentals digitally.

To start, the platform hosts over 3,500 cars from providers it has partnered with across Dubai. The selection includes luxury brands like Lamborghini as well as mass-market Toyota and Nissan models.

“A broad spectrum of user needs are catered to with luxury models like the Lamborghini Urus, as well as practical options such as the Toyota Camry and Nissan XTerra. With vehicles available in categories ranging from Economy, Standard, Business and Sports, Yango Drive accommodates all preferences and budgets to ensure high accessibility and value. The service gives users the option to rent a car for either a day, or for more extended periods, spanning a month or longer,” the firm said in a statement on Tuesday.

Customers can book vehicles by day or for longer periods up to a month. Yango Drive said it aims to standardise service quality across partners and provide support throughout the rental lifecycle.

The service soft-launched months ago and has seen nascent demand. It currently focuses on delivery areas within Dubai but plans geographic expansion to other emirates like Abu Dhabi and Sharjah going forward.

As a global technology firm, Yango identified Dubai as a pilot market given factors like its economic dynamism, tourism influx, and transport infrastructure investment relative to the region.

“Yango identified the emirate as the ideal launchpad for Yango Drive. The city attracts a diverse population, a high volume of tourists, and has one of the most developed car rental markets worldwide,” the company said.
