Holidaymakers from around the world have their eye on the UAE as their destination of choice for 2021, according to the latest findings from global tour operator Kuoni.
With most holidays put on hold this year as a result of the enforced movement restrictions to curb the global spread of the coronavirus pandemic, people are already looking towards next year.
According to Google Trends, online searches for ‘2021 holiday’ have increased by an incredible 124 percent since the end of March.
From this, Kuoni reviewed data for 131 countries around the world, including the UK, “to discover which countries travellers are searching for on Google for next year”.
And, in terms of the worldwide audience, the UAE proved the most popular as the most searched-for holiday spot for 2021 in 11 countries, giving particular mention to the “epic shopping malls and long stretches of beach” in Dubai; the snorkelling spots in Fujairah; and the beautiful coastline of Ras Al Khaimah.
The UAE topped the list ahead of Canada, the US and Qatar – all in joint second spot, while Egypt was the fifth most popular destination for travellers in 2021.
Dubai has reopened to international tourists, with hotels already reporting increased interest in holidaymakers looking to travel to the emirate this year.
