Dubai-based dry hotel operator Hospitality Management Holdings (HMH) has announced the opening of Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments.
Owned by Mustafa Sultan Enterprises, Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments is a four-star property and is part of the HMH’s bid to expand its portfolio across the Gulf region.
Laurent A Voivenel, CEO of HMH, said: “Oman is a key development market for HMH in keeping with the group’s strategy to prioritise expansion in GCC and we are proud to debut our brands in the country.
“The hospitality industry in Oman is witnessing remarkable growth at the moment and we are eager to capitalise on the favourable market conditions… we are confident Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments will add tremendous value to our growing presence in Oman while strengthening our international portfolio.”
Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments is part of a shopping arcade and multiplex and features 88 apartments including 23 one-bedroom apartments, 20 one-bedroom deluxe apartments and 45 two-bedroom apartments.
On site are an all-day-dining restaurant, a chill-out pool deck and shisha outlet, terrace lounge, meeting venues as well as gymnasium, aerobics room and swimming pool.
Oman saw inbound tourism numbers rise by an average of 7.4 percent per annum in the last decade and is targeting 12 million visitors annually by 2020 which is fueling the demand for quality mid-market hotels.
Oman Ministry of Tourism has forecast hotel room capacity to expand at an annual growth rate of 5.3 percent over the next four years while tourism is expected to contribute 5 percent to the country’s GDP by 2020.
Last month, Muzn Oman Commercial signed a management agreement with HMH to operate Corp Muscat Al Muzn Hotel.
The upscale three-star hotel will be part of the Al Muzn project being promoted by Majan Development Company as a mixed-use development including a shopping mall as well as a luxury wellness centre.
