E-giants bid for expansion

Adaco Services and Marketboomer Middle East reveal strategies to procure greater shares of the burgeoning hotel industry.

US-based hospitality solutions provider Adaco Services has embarked on an ambitious expansion drive in the MENA region.

In an exclusive interview with
Caterer Middle East

, the company’s COO Pat Welch revealed the opening of its new office in Bangalore, India, is set to sharpen its focus on the UAE, India, China and Japan.

“It is vital for us to have a presence in the Middle East, so we opened the office which will allow us to go east into these markets.

Enhanced competition has heightened the demand among hoteliers for accurate price quotes,” Welch said.

Welch said the company, currently providing services at more

than 500 properties in 53 countries, plans to introduce a modular version of its e-procurement system Adaco Eclipse.

The “scaled-down version”, to be distributed in Dubai by representative Bond Communications, will allow hotels and restaurants to select specific sections of the system.

“We have about 60 installations in the MENA region, including about 20, in Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, and there is a growing demand for our
procurement, inventory, recipe and menu costing analysis systems,” Welch added.

Managing partner of Marketboomer Middle East, Declan Monahon revealed the e-procurement systems provider has a number of big deals in the pipeline. The company has been working exclusively with Jumeirah Group in Dubai since 2005, and is now set to forge further partnerships.

“Some of the people we are talking to have properties across the region, in Egypt, Oman, Saudi and Jordan, and we’re at very advanced levels of discussion with those clients, and we expect to announce big partnerships soon with both local and international groups,” Monahon.
