Emirates rolls out lounges in Asia

Key hubs at Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur have been kitted out with plush lounges.

Emirates Airlines has opened dedicated lounge facilities for its premium passengers at both Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia, and the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Thailand – two of the carrier’s busiest Asian hubs.

The Emirates Lounges each cater to more than 100 passengers and are divided into three distinct areas incorporating a spacious sitting and relaxation area; a separate dining room with a gourmet hot and cold buffet, and full service bar, plus a fully-equipped business centre and wi-fi internet connectivity.

First and business class passengers are granted access to the lounge, as well as Emirates’ frequent flyers with Gold Skywards membership.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer our passengers in Asia Pacific with dedicated lounge facilities. The Emirates Lounge allow us to provide our customers with a consistent, high-quality Emirates experience both on the ground and in the air, starting from their exclusive chauffeur drive airport transfer and dedicated airport check-in counters, to luxurious lounge facilities and then our award-winning service onboard,” said Richard Vaughan, senior vice president commercial operations, East Asia & Australasia.

“Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur are both key cities in our Asia Pacific route network. Their strategic location allows us to offer a seamless experience for our passengers connecting onward to Emirates destinations in Australia and New Zealand.”

Emirates serves Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur with 15 and nine flights weekly respectively.

New lounges in theses locations take Emirates’ lounge total to 13 across its network, with others already open at London Heathrow, London Gatwick, New York JFK, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Singapore, Hong Kong.
