Etihad Airways is gearing up for one of its busiest winter travel seasons, with more than 2 million guests expected to pass through Abu Dhabi in December as travellers celebrate the festive season.

The strong demand reflects both the airline’s expanding global network and Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a world-class cultural and leisure destination.

The seasonal surge is driven by UAE residents travelling during extended school holidays and rising international interest in Abu Dhabi’s attractions.

Etihad’s network expansion throughout 2025 has further fuelled passenger demand across key routes.

To enhance convenience during peak travel, Etihad is urging passengers to make use of its suite of digital and early check-in services. These options are designed to reduce waiting times and simplify the journey for families, holidaymakers and transit travellers.

The airline’s top recommendations for December include:

  • Arriving early for flights
  • Using the Etihad App to manage bookings and travel documents
  • Making use of Abu Dhabi City Check-In facilities
  • Opting for Early Bag Drop
  • Considering Home Check-In for additional convenience

These services are intended to streamline the airport experience and accommodate the significant increase in seasonal travel volumes.
