Expo City Dubai has unveiled its Fan City for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will run from November 20 to December 18.
The 1083-acre venue will live stream matches of the World Cup at Jubilee Park and Al Wasl Dome.
Jubilee Park at Expo City Dubai can seat up to 10,000 visitors and will feature a friendly section with bean bags and food trucks serving a wide variety of culinary options, Expo City Dubai said in a statement on Tuesday.
“There will also be a licensed area for visitors of a legal drinking age, led by Budweiser, which is the official beer of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and a shisha lounge,” Expo City Dubai added.
Jubilee Park will open from 5PM to 1.30AM on weekdays, and 12PM to 1.30AM on weekends.
“Fan City will welcome visitors of all ages to celebrate the unifying power of sport, with two unique zones in the form of the family-friendly Jubilee Park and a more deluxe experience at Al Wasl,” the statement said.
Opening November 20, Fan City at Jubilee Park will feature jumbo screens and a striking line-up of entertainment, including table-top games; agility courses; foot volley courts; penalty kick activations; face-painting; and DJ’s spinning decks during half-time, the statement added.
Al Wasl Dome, which has a seating capacity of 2,500 visitors, will livestream World Cup matches from Round 16, December 3.
“Four super-sized screens will broadcast the matches live, augmented by in-game graphics projected across the large-scale canvas of Al Wasl dome. The audience will enjoy the pomp of a World Cup match with team anthems, a flag-raising ceremony, and pre- and post-game entertainment taking excitement levels to fever pitch,” the statement said.
Al Wasl will open from 6Pm to 9.30PM and 10PM to 1.30AM, the statement said, adding “ticket-holders for the early game will enjoy complimentary access to Jubilee Park afterwards.”
General admission to Fan City starts at AED 30, however children aged 12 and under can visit the venue for free.
VIP and hospitality packages are also available. Tickets will be available soon from Platinumlist, the statement said.
