Bahrain’s first gourmet delicatessen has opened in the new West Wing of the city’s Seef Mall.
Della Terra, translated as ‘from the earth’ offers traditional Italian food, produced without additives, colourings and artificial preservatives.
The retail outlet has selected ‘ambassadors’ from across Italy, such as pasta, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cheese, sauces and antipasti, with customer incentives including recipe sheets and buyer guides, in a bid to tap the potential for health-conscious eateries.
The interior – based on old Tuscan kitchen – includes panelling, units and shelving units created by a carpenter in Milan, before the pieces were air freighted to Bahrain for completion by an Italian technician.
