IFFCO eyes global prospects

IFFCO Group, a UAE-based manufacturer, is looking forward to expanding its operations after a successful Gulfood show.

IFFCO Group, a UAE-based manufacturer, is looking forward to expanding its operations after a successful Gulfood show.

The company, which is currently present in more than 80 countries, represents a number of food and beverage brands, including Tiffany, London Dairy, and its flagship meat and seafood brands, Khaleej and Hayat.

Split into a number of divisions, including Seville Products among others, the company received interest at Gulfood from global companies, which will help it enter new and emerging markets.

“The world is still big, and our presence is still fragile in many of these countries. We are focusing on the Middle East and North African countries; however we now have some positioning in the South of Africa,” said Fethi Khiari, director of international markets, Seville Products.

Now wanting to expand in central Asia with its range of products; including the company’s range of edible oils for the foodservice sector, IFFCO is also updating its facilities under its frozen foods brands.

Currently producing 400 tonnes of frozen produce each month from its meat production facilities in Sharjah and Jebel Ali, IFFCO’s managing director for frozen foods, Mostafa Sidki, hopes to double this within the next two years.

“The output will increase and up our presence in the Middle East, as the foodservice industry currently represents 60% of our business. We are also promoting our value added products, from breaded to pastry lines,” Sidki commented.

He also said that the company’s expansion of its export business to countries including the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Japan, has been bolstered by its production facilities in Egypt, Tunisia, Malaysia and Pakistan. The UAE though, remains a chief focus, due to transit trade and a floating population.

“We are constantly introducing new products to attract more Arab, Subcontinent and Western clients,” added Sidki.
