American music superstar Beyoncé used a teleprompter for her lyrics throughout her performance at Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal on Saturday night.

The lyrics could be seen being projected to the far end of the stage during the show, as the singer performed some of her greatest hits for an invite-only crowd of VIP guests and celebrities.

For her performance, the singer reportedly took home $24 million – along with a stay at the resort’s $100,000 a night room – the world’s most expensive.

Beyoncé had been performing as part of Atlantis The Royal’s “grand reveal,” in an evening that also included a multi-million dollar firework display and ended with a show from Swedish House Mafia. In 2008, Kylie Minogue opened the original Atlantis next door to its now more imposing sibling.

Atlantis The Royal is a 43-storey cantilevered building, and will feature 231 luxury apartments, 693 hotel rooms and 102 suites, all of which offer views of the Arabian Sea and Palm Island.

The property has multiple pools, including 44 private infinity pools attached to suites and penthouses, and two adults-only pools. The resort will also boast a helipad, “fire breathing” fountains and a tank with 4,000 jellyfish – described as the largest in the world.

Bookings can now be made for dates starting February 10 with the Sky Terrace Suite which starts at a price tag of AED17,417 per night.

Atlantis Resorts Managing Director and Vice President Timothy Kelly had earlier told Arabian Business that these rooms are “The best suites in the sky that exist in the world and the best villa products in a tower in the world. Without question.”

The resort also boasts 17 different restaruants, of which eight have been opened under the banner of a celebrity chef – such as Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner by Heston, La Mar by Gastón Acurio, and Jaleo Dubai by José Andrés.
