Total revenues of Dubai hotels and hotel apartments reached AED 10 billion (US $2.7 billion) in 2006, according to the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). Dubai’s occupancy levels reached 85% in January, topping those of other major international destinations including Hong Kong (83.8%), Sydney (76.6%), Tokyo (73%) and even London (71.5%).
