Tourist attractions, events, and commercial activities in Abu Dhabi return to 100 percent capacity

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee has approved a return to 100 percent operating capacity across all commercial activities, tourist attractions, and events in the emirate.

The Abu Dhabi authority has extended the validity period of the Green Pass from 14 to 30 days for those who are fully vaccinated.

Masks will continue to remain mandatory in indoor spaces, although they are not required outdoors. the state-run news agency, Wam, reported.

The updates to the are effective from Friday, 29 April, 2022, in line with the maintained low Covid-19 infection rate.

Previously revealed Covid regulation updates

For those planning to visit the UAE during the Eid break, vaccinated travellers flying into Abu Dhabi no longer need a pre-arrival PCR test.

Also, the PCR test that was previously required after arriving at the Abu Dhabi International Airport will also no longer be required.

However, the testing facility remains at the airport for any visitors that wish to take a PCR test to activate their Green Pass in Al Hosn app and facilitate access to Abu Dhabi’s public places and tourist attractions. The cost of this PCR test is AED 40.

As previously announced in March 2022, unvaccinated citizens, residents, and visitors can access heritage sites and tourist attractions if they have proof of a negative PCR test.

According to the latest regulations shared on Visit Abu Dhabi, children aged under 12 years automatically receive ‘Green’ status without the need to be vaccinated or to take a PCR test. However, children aged 12 to 15 years do not need to be vaccinated, but do need to take a PCR test to receive ‘Green’ status on the Al Hosn app.

The Al Hosn app is the official Covid-19 results app used across the UAE. The app provides quick access to results for Covid-19 tests conducted in the UAE as well as PCR test reports and vaccination certificates and dates.
