Those seeking to travel over the expected public holidays, for the summer and during peak periods can apply travel tips to obtain cheap travel deals including booking on the ‘best’ day, which according to previous studies was Sunday.
Based on research by several airlines and travel reporting agencies, Sunday is considered as the best day to book flights. For domestic flights – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were revealed to be the ideal booking days.
Booking on off-peak days can result in savings of up to 20 percent, according to travellersworldwide.com
There are not only ideal booking days but ideal days to travel too. Although Sunday is considered to be the best day to book flights, departing on a Wednesday versus the beginning of the week can result in up to 15 percent savings on flight costs, according to an Expedia.com report.
Booking in advance is another way to ensure the best airfare as last minute ticket prices are usually much higher.
Ross Veitch, CEO and Co-founder of Wego, told Arabian Business, “Airfares have been high for the last few months because of high demand and somewhat limited supply plus high fuel prices. This was very much the case around the Eid and recent school breaks. Fortunately most GCC based carriers will be back to their pre-covid capacity by Summer and we hope to see some reduction in fares in the second half of the year but probably not back to pre-covid levels. If you are planning to travel over Summer my advice is to book your trips now.”

Arabian Business Traveller consulted with travel experts and industry insiders to reveal the top travel destinations of 2023, According to travel expert Richard Stolz, Principal at Roland Berger Middle East, Southeast Asia is one of the most sought–after destinations this year.
