UAE temperatures cross 50 degrees

Umm Al Zumool sees high of 50.9C recorded while Dubai close to 49C

Temperatures in the UAE have crossed the 50 degrees Celsius mark, with Umm Al Zumool seeing the mercury touch 50.9 C.

The July heat also saw high temperatures all across the country.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Science, Dubai temperatures on Tuesday rose to 48.3 C, with Abu Dhabi and Sharjah hitting 44 C. Humidity around costal areas has been as high as 80 percent.

July and August are considered the two hottest months in the UAE.
