The 10 annual meeting of the International Network for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (INSME) has launched in Abu Dhabi.
A series of lectures, meetings, workshops, and networking opportunities will take place between Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 March, under the theme of ‘Investing in Innovation: Building a Sustainable Knowledge-based Economy’.
Since launching in 2004, INSME has promoted innovation among local businesses, as well as encouraging and aiding their growth beyond the UAE’s borders.
Among the high profile speakers at the event, which takes place on Yas Island, are H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan – UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, H.E. Hussain Al Nowais – chairman of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Mark Thompson – CEO and founder of Virgin Unite Mentors, Johan Gorecki – co-founder of Skype, Sultan Lootah – CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, and Bruce Ferguson of Masdar Institute of Science and Technology.
A number of round tables and training programmes will help SMEs, entrepreneurs, and business leaders get to grips with key topics and issues within the sector, including sustainable growth, finance, and regional ecosystems.
