Electronics giant's president says region is 'very important growth destination'
Japanese electronics giant Epson has said it is keen to expand its presence across key Middle East markets.
Minoru Usui, president of Seiko Epson Corporation, reaffirmed Epson's commitment to the region during his maiden visit to the UAE, saying it was a key part of the company's global growth strategy.
Usui said in a statement: "The Middle East has been a very important growth destination for Epson and it continues to open exciting opportunities to innovate and grow our market share.
"The region will obviously play a crucial role in Epson's global expansion plans and we are therefore fully committed to deliver technology solutions that satisfy the expectations of our customers in the Middle East."
He added: "My visit underlines Epson's enthusiasm to meet our strategic partners and customers in the region to interact with them and to better understand their concerns and unique requirements, which will greatly help us in our continuing pursuit of growth and excellence."
Seiko Epson Corporation, commonly known as Epson, is a Japanese electronics company and one of the world's largest manufacturers of computer printers, information and imaging related equipment.
Headquartered in Suwa, Nagano, Japan, the company is one of three core companies of the Seiko Group, a name traditionally known for manufacturing Seiko timepieces since its founding.
They may want to expand their business across the Middle East but I would advise everyone o think hard before buying an Epson colour printer.
I bought a new Epsom colour printer/scanner in April of this year for AED600 and am having to spend AED279 replacing all four ink cartridges every 4-8 weeks with low levels of printing. I thought there must be something wrong with the printer or my AC was drying it out until I went online and researched the problem... complaint after complaint about Epsom and their special ink cartridges and their inbuilt "management chips" from customers all over the globe! This was product knowledge that I wish the Carrefour salesman was aware of when I was first comparing models from HP, Cannon and Epson!
PR works both ways Epson...
