It’s not yet clear if the job comes with additional perks like free streaming of Netflix, but the OTT giant has announced a position for a flight attendant for one of its private jets that can, hold your breath, pay an annual salary of up to USD385,000 (AED1.41 million).
The salary range starts from USD60,000 per annum to USD385,000. It is for the lead position, and the job advertisement says: “The overall market range for this role is typically $60,000-$385,000.
“This market range is based on total compensation (vs. only base salary), which is in line with our compensation philosophy. Netflix is a unique culture and environment.”
The flight attendant will be part of a “dream crew”, and lead Netflix’s private super-midsize G550 jet based in San Jose, California, not far from its headquarters.
G550 is a Gulfstream jet that can accommodate 12 to 16 passengers. It is fuel-efficient and has a range of nearly 12,500 kilometers at speed of nearly 550mph (885 kmph). A trip from San Jose to London, where Netflix has one of its major international offices, is approximately 8,632 kilometres.
“As you travel, you embrace the Netflix culture of Freedom and Responsibility, allowing you to operate with little direction and a lot of self-motivation. You also demonstrate the independent judgment, discretion and outstanding customer service skills necessary to provide a seamless experience for our passengers,” said the advertisement.
Apart from the usual aviation abilities, the candidate will have to be San Jose-based. They also need to have flight safety FAA-certified training.
They will maintain and provision the San Jose Stockroom and support G550 trips as needed.
A bit of weightlifting practice will help the suitable candidate. As per Netflix, the should also be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds (appx 13.5 kgs) when loading and stocking the aircraft.
On its part, Netflix promised: “The Netflix Aviation department provides exceptional, safe, confidential air transportation. It is our goal to provide the most outstanding aviation experience available, by using the best people and the best equipment, and providing the highest level of customer service possible.
“The aviation team helps Netflix reach the world more efficiently and effectively so the company can continue to create joy around the world.”
The advertisement warned that the person will have to work on various weekends and holidays and needs to have “flexibility to work a varied work schedule including domestic and international travel, often requiring weekend and holiday work days and extended travel periods”.
