UAE is currently experiencing a boom in expat relocation as workers and investors continue to flock to the region. Due to the rising influx of expats, salaries and benefits offered by companies is forecast to decline next year, according to the latest Robert Half salary guide.

Less competitive salaries and benefits are impacting those already working in the UAE, resulting in the lack of opportunity for job changes. This can be beneficial for companies, contributing to rising retention rates, however, chances of declining productivity and employee dissatisfaction is high.

The report revealed that although demand for talent with UAE experience is often preferred, companies are having to compromise due to budget restraints.

It is predicted that in 2025, following outcomes of geopolitical factors, employers could find themselves competing for the best talent as employees are increasingly expressing interest to find new roles (65 per cent).

Three in five businesses (63 per cent) are anticipating a headcount increase in 2025.

However, three-quarters of workers in the UAE (75 per cent) have expressed difficulty in negotiating a pay rise as compared to the previous year. More than half (52 per cent) of employees believe that they could be replaced by their employer.

The majority revealed that they are adhering to current roles due to necessity rather than preference (63 per cent).

However, 47 per cent of employers in the UAE stated that although the number of individuals seeking jobs in the country has increased, it still remains crucial to find a candidate with the right skills.
