Jotun to paint the town red with Discovery win

Paint company Jotun has won a US $6.8 million (AED25 million) deal to supply Nakheel’s Discovery Gardens project in Dubai.

The contract includes the supply of interior and exterior paints for the entire block of buildings that comprise the project, within a stipulated timescale of six months.

“This is an important win for us, one that reinforces our leadership position in the local market,” said Arve Hermansen, general manager for decorative sales, Jotun Paints.

The company said it would ensure that the Discovery Gardens work is executed in accordance with strict environmental standards.

Jotun Paints is a founding member of the Emirates Green Building Council, which was established in July.

The company claims a longstanding commitment to improving the environment through eco-friendly production methods and products.

Discovery Gardens is a pre-designed complex comprising themed communities styled in a variety of garden experiences.

The cultural communities are Mediterranean, Zen, Contemporary, Cactus, Mogul and Mesoamerican Courtyard Gardens.

Located near Jebel Ali, the entire project is expected to be finished in July 2008.
