Jumeirah develops an interest in Botany

Dubai-based hospitality management group Jumeirah has been appointed by Timbers Resorts to manage a luxury multi-use resort on St. Thomas, one of the US Virgin Islands.

Dubai-based hospitality management group Jumeirah has been appointed by Timbers Resorts to manage a luxury multi-use resort on St. Thomas, one of the US Virgin Islands.

The Jumeirah Botany Bay Resort, formerly known as The Preserve at Botany Bay, is a five-star boutique hotel comprising 84 rooms.

The resort, scheduled to open in 2011, will also include 30 fractional residences, 30 whole ownership villas and up to 20 grand estates — serviced residences which will be managed by Jumeirah Living.

Guests at the 400-acre resort will be able to enjoy several beaches, secluded coves, a pristine coral reef, fine dining restaurants and a beach club as well as a Talise Wellness spa.

Jumeirah hailed the management agreement with Timbers Resorts as a key addition to its portfolio of luxury properties, with the hotel group’s executive chairman Gerald Lawless explaining Jumeirah had been impressed by Timbers’ commitment to responsible development.

Timbers’ founder and chief executive David Burden commented: “We selected Jumeirah as the ideal hotel company to partner with…Based on their internationally renowned hotel experience in luxury service, they will be a perfect match for our discerning owners and resort guests”.
