Juniper has upgraded its remote access platform to support both IPSec and SSL sessions, using a new version of its Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE) 5.0 software. The policy engine automatically decides which protocol is most appropriate for the existing connection.
Juniper says the software delivers the next generation of Network Connect and advanced endpoint remediation capabilities, as well as dynamic XML re-writing and a Java Applet Delivery Infrastructure.
“With this new release of the IVE 5.0 software for Secure Access and Remote Access appliances, Juniper Networks is offering the most comprehensive application and network access methods to enable enterprises to leverage one single infrastructure for all their extended access needs,” says Vivian Ganitsky, director of Product Management for the SSL VPN products, Juniper Networks.
“A single platform provides intelligent access provisioning and coordinated security policy administration, while reducing administrative costs. This results in lower TCO and higher ROI and enables secure and assured access to applications,” he adds.
Network Connect is delivered as a downloadable agent, which eliminates the need for IT to install, configure and manage client software on the user’s PC. The agent utilises one of two transport modes, including IPsec mode for high performance and SSL mode for high availability, which ensures optimised performance as well as reliable, always-on connectivity. The Network Connect agent dynamically adapts to any connection environment without any end user intervention, ensuring seamless and ubiquitous network connectivity.
