Kaka 'demands 20% salary rise' to join Man City

EXCLUSIVE: Brazilian star's compensation call for missing out on Champions League.

Brazilian superstar Kaka is demanding a 20 percent increase on his staggering $730,000 weekly salary offer to join Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City - as compensation for him not playing in the Champions League.

Sources close to the club owners on Friday told Arabian Business that the $150 million deal to bring Kaka to Eastlands from Italian giants AC Milan was now "likely" and the owners are hoping to parade their new signing on Sunday.

The source said: "There has been a lot of ups and downs and the sticking point has not been the transfer fee but Kaka's wages. His people have seen the offer made to him as being on the low side and they are looking to raise it by 20 percent given the fact that Kaka will not be playing Champions League football for now at least."

However, the source added, Kaka's people have now indicated that their man is now inclined to accept the offer.

On Thursday, sources close to the club suggested that the club owners had withdrawn their offer for the former world player of the year. However it now appears that both Kaka and AC Milan have been pushing for the transfer to go through.

The source added: "The big advantage right now is that there is a global credit crisis and there are not many clubs in the world as financially secure as Man City. This is a very big attraction for Kaka."

Arabic newspapers and TV channels were also reporting on Friday that Kaka could be unveiled by Man City as early as Sunday.

It is just ridiculous to pay 730.000 dollar a week for a player. You could use this money tobuild up the infrastrucure and the brand of football in the Middle East. You can have a big competition that is equal or even better than the premiership. If you still insist to pay such a big sum, it would be wiser to have a GCC or a ME competition. Whereby you atract a lot of viewers from all over the world. The money now just evaporates in thin air.

A 20% pay rise before he joins? Why didn't I think of that when I first started work, genius! For the £100mil I'd still go for 10 premier ready players, he may turn out to be another Bojinov.

If this deal goes through I don't know how Manchester United could turn down a comparable offer from Real Madrid for Ronaldo. I know Sir Alex does not want to let him go but for 100+ million Pounds Man United could go buy a winger or two and still have made a huge profit....business is business!

I Guess it is fair enough that the owners of M.City want to create the strongest football team ever!! Whats the problem if they have money, and they want to use it to buy the best players in world? Its not clear where all that money come from, however, the money is there, and I think M. City will be the best team in England, soon! Nevertheless, the owners must be aware that these recently hired players are just there because of money, and just good players are not the enough to make a good team!

You make me smile, you make me cry, you make me shout... Kaka please don't go. You're you, silmply the best and I would see you lift again the magic cup against the sky. Please hear your and our hearths and don't became a slave of the money. I believe there's something more over the money, find it into yourself.

Kaka is right, It is a simple calculation, team will never pay more money than team receives with a player, how much more money you bring to one company higher will be your salary. But the best thing is that São Paulo Futebol Clube which is former team of Kaka will receive 7 Million of Dolars...
