Kuwait Airways Corporation is planning to conduct a series of training courses aimed at companies operating in Kuwait's airfreight industry.

The corporation recently held a special event to promote the forthcoming educational programmes, which will cover the entire spectrum of freight-related activities, ranging from beginners level to the more advanced management techniques.

"Agents and freight companies can choose from a catalogue of 20 programmes in total, each dealing with a different topic of expertise, including cargo marketing, the handling of hazardous goods and airfreight management," said Dr Lafi Al Thafeer, training director, Kuwait Airways Corporation.

Kuwait Airways Corporation's decision to increase its range of educational courses highlights the Middle East airfreight industry's growing focus on training. Last month, Oman Air Training Centre became the first authorised provider of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) diploma in Oman. The education programme, which was developed and updated by a team of international cargo experts, aims to increase job prospects for students by providing a specialised qualification recognised throughout the world.
