Kuwait halts trading in Solidere

The Beirut-based company denies claims that it did not announce its results on time.

The Kuwait bourse said on Sunday it had halted trading in the shares of Beirut-based Solidere for not announcing its 2006 full-year results.

A source at Solidere in Beirut told Reuters the firm was surprised at the announcement and said it had sent its audited 2006 results to the bourse on time.

The bourse said on Wednesday it would halt trading in the Lebanese firm's shares and that of two other Kuwaiti firms if they failed to report the results by 0630 GMT on Sunday.
