Kuwait rules out share trading suspension

Committee of Stock Exchange says trading in Kuwait remains 'sound and orderly'.

Kuwait's minister of commerce and industry Ahmad Baqer has ruled out the possibility of suspending trading on Kuwait Stock Exchange.

He made his remarks in a statement late Monday, state news agency KUNA reported.

At the same time the Committee on the Stock Market also ruled out a trading suspension.

"It is illogical to deprive KSE investors of the right to buy and sell shares. The current KSE trading is sound and orderly and follows the controls of the stock market,” it said in a statement.

The Kuwait Stock Exchange has lost 10 percent in the last four trading sessions.
