The man said prices would heavily affect families
A Kuwaiti national has filed a lawsuit against the government on Wednesday in a bid to reverse its decision to increase fuel prices.
He said he filed the case because families would be “heavily affected” by the surge in prices, reported Gulf Daily News.
The government announced earlier this year that it would increase fuel prices by more than 80 percent starting today, September 1, as part of its economic reforms aimed at countering low oil revenues.
The new measurement, which came into effect today, saw the price of low-octane petrol increase by 41 percent per litre and the price of high-grade petrol increase by 61 percent.
Moreover, the price of eco-friendly low-emission petrol also increased by 83 percent.
Too little of an increase , much too late . The fuel prices should be at least doubled to reduce the outlandish subsidies. Privatise more industry and services and any such increases will not even be felt.
