Five more outlets set for Qatar, Cairo and Dubai
Los Angeles-based restaurant brand Katsuya will expand its presence in the Middle East following the debut of its first standalone outlet in Dubai in late-2013, with plans for five new locations in late 2016/early 2017.
The brand, which was created by a partnership between master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi and designer Philippe Starck, will now join development plans in Villagio in Doha, Doha Festival City, Mall of Egypt in Cairo, Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard in Dubai and Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.
“Since our launch in Dubai and Kuwait, Katsuya has become a namesake international brand known for its exceptional cuisine, breath-taking design and luxury experience. It is with great pleasure that we embark on this innovative stage for the brand in the Middle East market,” said John Kolaski, COO of sbe Restaurants.
“The fast growing leisure market is incomparable and we are thrilled to be a part of the upward expansion of these destinations as never-before-seen retail developments take shape. Katsuya is a beloved culinary event by many across the world and we are excited to bring this to a brand new consumer base.”
Katsuya was created in Los Angeles and is known for its unique decor and menu. Signature dishes include The Hollywood Roll, miso-marinated black cod, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, and the Japanese mushroom bop.
