Labourers were evacuated to safety after a fire broke out at a construction site in Dubai on Monday.

The building site off Sheikh Zayed Road was reportedly put out by firefighters in less than an hour.

No injuries were reported in the incident which happened at midday local time, Gulf News reported.

It quoted a Dubai Civil Defence spokesperson as saying that the fire started in the insulation material on the roof of the building.

The labourers were evacuated out of the building to ensure their safety, he said.

Teams from fire stations in Al Barsha and UAE Martyr took part in the response to the incident.
