Lancashire Holdings opens at DIFC

British-based global insurance specialist looks to strengthen regional business from Dubai financial centre.

Lancashire Holdings Limited's wholly-owned subsidiary, Lancashire Marketing Services (Middle East) Limited has been registered by the Dubai Financial Services Authority to begin trading as an insurance intermediation firm in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

The company, headed by recently appointed CEO John Melcon, will concentrate on marketing Lancashire's UK and Bermuda-based insurance subsidiaries more effectively and efficiently in the Middle East.

Richard Brindle, Chief Executive Officer, Lancashire Holdings Limited, said that he was excited at the growth potential in the GCC.

"Operating from the DIFC, Lancashire Middle East will allow us to focus even more strongly on our core classes of business," he said.
