Larsen bags orders worth US $269mn

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won three EPC contracts worth US $269 million (AED988 million) in the GCC.

L&T Oman has been awarded two EPC contracts worth $116 million from Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) for the construction of electrical grid stations and associated transmission systems and a $48 million factory complex, while L&T picked up an EPC order of $105 million from the Al Ain Distribution Company (AADC) for the construction of five electrical substations and associated MV cabling in the emirate.

According to the terms of the contract, L&T will design and build the 33/11kV primary substations to the specifications of the international consultant PB Power and will be completed within 24 months.

The Oman contracts are for two grid stations, valued at $89 million, and for strengthening the transmission system in and around Seeb International Airport to meet the increasing load demand for the New International Airport and other townships in the area.

The projects will be executed by the Power Transmission and Distribution Sector of L&T Oman, and will be completed in 15 months.
